Every so often, a company with a hot ripoff on it hands will roll the dice and send its wares through the FCC approval process, look around while whistling innocently, and hope beyond hope that no one notices anything unusual about the goods. The latest sneaky little son of a gun comes courtesy of Ezze Mobile Tech, the creatively named “MEGA4″ with quadband GSM, a touch display, TV-out, and Bluetooth. Screen off, the design reeks of Sony Ericsson’s cues, but turn it on, and, well… you can pretty much tell where this is going. We guess it’s nice to get a little taste of the buffoonery we’d be treated to if Apple and Sony were to merge, but with just GPRS data on board, a set of FCC documentation is about as close to the flavor as we want to get.

Nice phone, but we have to admit, we’re not blown away here. Pantech’s diving headlong into the fashionable touch phone market with the SKY IM-R300 for its domestic market, featuring a DMB tuner, microSD slot, 260MB of internal storage, HSDPA, a 2.6-inch WQVGA display, and a relatively puny 2 megapixel camera. Oh, and what’s with that gargantuan stylus there? Actually, how does that monster even fit inside the phone? We’re guessing finger control doesn’t play a particularly big role on this one, though the need for character recognition might make switching between the stylus and a fingertip too much trouble to bother anyway.

Was this thing really discovered last September? Yikes. Nevertheless, Motorola’s sleek sliding Z10 has been unboxed and laid down gently in order to be photographed. For those who’ve stuck with this thing for this long, why not head on down and peruse the gallery waiting for you? We hear there’s free lemonade.

Here we have it, iPhone 3G pricing for our better mannered, gun-toting friends up north. All the plans from Rogers Wireless require that lovely, three-year contract and include visual voicemail, free evenings and weekends, and unlimited WiFi at all Rogers and Fido hotspots. The plans start at $60/month for 150 minutes of voice and just 400MB of data before topping out at $115/month for 800 minutes voice and up to 2GB of data. None of these plans offer unlimited data as previously rumored. See the details after the break.

Look, we’ve heard our fair share of PSP phone rumors, and there’s really no reason to trust this one any further than your average baseless musings, but if Marketing Week’s “sources in Japan and Korea” can be trusted, Sony’s PSP phone could be hitting shelves as soon as Christmas 2009. What does seem clear to these shady sources is that Sony won’t be forking over the PlayStation branding to its Sony Ericsson partnership, and instead will build its PSP phone all by its lonesome. Other “details” from “analysts” are slightly less legit-sounding, with some stating it would be “relatively easy” to work phone features into the PSP since it already includes WiFi. Um, ok. Still, reasonable or not, this is clearly a rumor that will never die — until Sony builds the dang thing, in which case we can start talking up a sequel.
[Thanks, Alex]

The question on quite literally every WinMo fanatic’s mind as we go into the second half of the year here is, “Touch Pro or X1?” It’s not an easy question to answer, and anyone hoping to sink some cash on either one of these models in a few months is going to want to do so with a crap-ton of research and anecdotal information under their belts lest the buyer’s remorse set in particularly quickly. MobileBurn scored an early look at the Touch Pro — which won’t be available at retail for a month or three yet — and came away impressed with the all-important keyboard, saying that it was “much more” usable than the QWERTY found on Sony Ericsson’s rival superphone. Closed, it’s said to be virtually indistingushable from the Touch Diamond (which we’d say is a good thing) other than being a bit thicker to accomodate they keyboard and picking up a matte-finish rear cover. Unfortunately, HTC refused to show off the Touch Pro’s interface — apparently on account of some new tricks up TouchFLO 3D’s sleeve that haven’t already made their way into the Touch Diamond — but they did share that the new model will handle landscape mode with particular aplomb. So this one might have the X1 beat in the keyboard department, but the X1’s WVGA display takes the crown for sheer pixel count. Decisions!

Though they’ve already been well documented (heck, they’re already on sale in some parts of the world), Nokia’s just now getting around to making its foursome of Supernovas official. The new line reps mid-range fashion (think L’Amour, but not over the top) and comes in your choice of two candybars, a flip, or a slider as the 7210, 7310, 7510, or 7610, respectively. The 7210 features a tri-band GSM radio plus EDGE, a 2 megapixel camera, and an FM radio; look for it to launch in the third quarter for €120 (about $189). The 7310 apes the 7210’s look but adds support for changeable Xpress-On faceplates, TV-out, and support for GSM 850, and while all that extra kit adds €35 (about $55) to the price over the lesser model, it’s available now. The 7510 goes for the flip form factor but carries over most of the 7310’s spec sheet, waiting it out until the fourth quarter for a €180 (about $283) launch in scary colors like “Fatal Red”. Finally, the 7610 (no, not that one) moves up to a beefier 3.2 megapixel camera and hits next quarter for €225 (about $354).

It may not speak with the voice of KITT, but Mio’s new Moov 380 GPS unit looks like it’ll pack some pretty desirable features nonetheless, not the least of which is a built-in SIM card for some Dash-like two-way communication. That’ll of course also let you make and receive calls and text messages straight from the device without having to jump through the usual Bluetooth hoops, although there’s no word as to what carrier Mio might be teaming up with or what the rates will be. Otherwise, it seems you can expect the usual array of GPS and non-GPS-related functions, along with the requisite microSD card slot and Mio’s trademark MioMore Desktop software for some PC connectivity. No word on a price or release date just yet, but its recent trip through the FCC would seem to indicate that those details should be cropping up sooner rather than later.
